Major of Tea Science(undergraduate)

Brief introduction tothe major

The major of tea science has been recruiting undergraduate students from all over the country since 1973. The major has a master degree program of tea science. Among its 22-team members, there are 4 professors and 10 associate professors, 14 members hold Ph D degree. The major offers a four year (8 semesters) full time course leading to award the agronomybachelor degree.

Main Courses

Plant, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry,food microbiology, An Introduction to Tea Science, Nutrition and Healthcare of Tea, A General Theory of Tea Culture, Manufacture and Classification of Tea, Tea Evaluation and Tea Tasting, Theory and Practice of Tea Ceremony, Practice of Soaking Tea, Enterprise Management of Tea Industry, Tea Trade, etc.

Training Objective

The curriculum is designed to provide students on cutting edge knowledge in food and tea technology which encompasses broad areas of tea science such as tea husbandry and production technology, tea processing technology, tea economics & marketing and general administration & management in the tea industry with wide range of food sciences, etc.The graduates could work in research, teaching, management on tea n and other aspects.
