Soiland Fertilizer Institute of Yunnan Agricultural University
Soil and Fertilizer Institute of Yunnan Agricultural University was established in June 2002, main tasks are carry on scientific researches, technology development and technology services in soil, plant nutrients and fertilizers. In recent years, Soil and Fertilizer Institute has implemented and developed fertilizer application techniques of vegetables, tobacco, flowers, sugar cane, rice, corn, potatoes, bananas, coffee and other crops, formula fertilization by soil testing and development of new type fertilizers, substrate nursery and soilless cultivation, protected cultivation of rational fertilizer application and sustainable production, soil and water conservation; soil quality monitoring and regulation, land use planning, soil and plant rapid diagnosis, and analysis of soils, plants, fertilizers and pollutants. Soil and Fertilizer Institute has undertaken more than 80 research projects, including: Special Fund for Agro-scientific Research in the Public Interest, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), National 863 Plan Projects, the Key Programs by National Science and Technology Ministry, The Introduction of International Advanced Agricultural Science and Technology Program (948 Program), The Spring Plan of Ministry of Education, Yunnan provincial intercollegiate cooperation project, Yunnan Province Natural Science Fund Project, Yunnan province science and technology projects, the Natural Science Foundation of Yunnan Province.
There are 18 staffs at the Soil and fertilizer institute , including 7 professors, 7 associate professors and 4 intermediate titles; 12 of whom have doctorates.
Soil and fertilizer institute affiliated to Soils, plants and environmental analysis laboratory, Laboratory of Plant Nutrition, Soil and Fertilizer Laboratory, land resources survey and evaluation laboratory, laboratory of soil science, crop nutrition diagnostics laboratory of Yunnan Agricultural University.
In terms of technology services and industrial development, through years of efforts and exploration, the framework for the development of fertilizers and microbial agents has been established. Research and development of products included Agriculture organic solid waste fermentation agents, soil functions microbial agents, plant growth regulators, bio-fertilizers, new type fertilizers and so on. Some products and technologies have been transferred and promotion, obtained eight patents.
