Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission released new sequence into the management of national engineering research center, relying on our construction of the "agricultural biodiversity application technology national engineering research center" by the National Development and Reform Commission, the optimization of integrated evaluation, formally incorporated into the management of national engineering research center of the new sequence.

It is reported that 52 national engineering research centers, accounting for 27% of the total, took the lead in the construction of the new sequence. Our university has also become one of the only three agricultural universities in China in the new sequence. The incorporation of the center into the new sequence management will further promote the construction of the first-class discipline and specialty of plant protection in our university.

In February 2021, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) carried out the first batch of optimization and integration of National engineering research centers and national engineering laboratories. According to the general requirement of "reducing the number and improving the quality", only 42 percent of national engineering research centers were included in the new sequence. In August, the national engineering research center of our school took part in the second batch of optimization of integration, the school attaches great importance to, and has set up special working team to actively with the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Engineering, and yunnan province development and reform commission and other departments communication and coordination, has carried out several rounds of face-to-face workshops and organize the center work evaluation, finally formed a national engineering research center of integration and optimization scheme.

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) requires the engineering centers to be included in the new sequence management to adhere to the strategic needs of the country and the industry, focus on solving the "bottleneck" technology problems in economic and social development, and build a national strategic science and technology force to improve the efficiency of industrial innovation and promote the deep integration of the innovation chain. The National Development and Reform Commission will increase its support for the innovation capacity building of the engineering Center and encourage the center to undertake more major national scientific and technological innovation tasks according to the needs of national tasks. At the same time, engineering centers will be strictly managed and evaluated once every three years to achieve dynamic adjustment and eliminate the best and the worst.
